Results / RS Fat Face Racing Circuit Filey SC - 11/09/2004
Seven boats braved the strong southerly winds. Three races were
sailed, or should I say survived, on Saturday with the wind
gusting to force 7. Getting round in one piece was the key to
success. Colin Aldred (Filey S C) led with a score of 2,1,1.
Carl Whitehead (Filey S C) was second with 1, 2, 2, and
Denis Frogitt (Covenham S C) 3, 3, 3, in third.
Saturday nights meal and refreshment restored energy levels
ready for Sundays racing.
Sunday arrived with the same conditions as Saturday. Or
even possibly stronger. Only one race was completed.
Some failed to get round once, and others suffered with
gear failure. Dennis took the winning gun, and as there
was no more racing, the event as well.
Everyone enjoyed the hospitality of Filey S C and are
looking forward to next years Nationals Championships
which will be hosted here; hopefully with a bit less wind!
